Dry Dock 5 (P-209) Construction Progress | October 2026

JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR-HICKAM, Hawaii — October work on the P-209 Dry Dock 5 project advanced underwater construction, waterfront structures and supporting infrastructure for Officer in Charge of Construction Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard (OICC PHNSY).

Crews placed more than 900 cubic yards of concrete 40 to 60 feet underwater.

In the pump well, divers completed trimming foundation piles to the required elevation and installing protective plastic jackets nearly 80 feet underwater. Workers continue installing above-water bracing. Once operational, the pump well will help remove water from the dry dock.

Crews completed the remaining pile driving for the west quay wall and north cofferdam, bringing the combined total for these features to nearly 200 piles.

Concrete foundation slabs were placed for the basin water treatment system and east electrical substation, advancing infrastructure that will support future dry dock operations.
